Artground Article

Designer.  Professional Practice & SMLXL Studio, Cornell University, Spring 2014 & Fall 2011.

Artground was designed as the “Large” project in unfolding studio using elements such as overlapping and perforation from the “Small” and “Medium” projects. “Large” needed to be a space that combines stage and gallery.  Artground takes an innovative stance on this by encouraging everyday viewers to participate in visual and performing arts in a playful way.  In a Professional Practice and Entrepreneurship seminar, students were tasked with replicating a magazine article in a design magazine that highlights the business plan and work of a design firm.  This article features Artground as an upcoming project by TRI, an experimental design firm that focuses on creating physical and virtual platforms for visual and performing arts.  TRI frequently collaborates with local artists and art institutions, and has been using these connections to encourage these artists to both show their work and teach others on the Artground.
